The Paul and Alma Aging Trust Fund provides opportunities for older adults to live healthy, productive lives.

The Paul and Alma Schwan Aging Trust Fund is a designated fund of the Southwest Initiative Foundation. It was established in 1990-1991 with a generous gift from Marvin Schwan in honor of his parents. He endowed the fund to help communities prepare for and respond to the opportunities and challenges of an aging rural society.

The Southwest Initiative Foundation is not currently accepting grant applications for the Paul and Alma Schwan Aging Trust Fund.

This fund is currently helping to support our work around Encore Entrepreneurship. Encore Entrepreneurship is a program designed to provide financing and technical assistance to entrepreneurs age 55 and better. Examples of technical assistance include business planning, strategic planning, marketing assistance and general business education. Learn more about Encore Entrepreneurship on our Microenterprise Loan Program page or contact us at encore@swifoundation.org or 800-594-9480.
