The Southwest Initiative Foundation (SWIF) is committed to working with diverse businesses and building capacity in our region for our newest immigrants by providing access to information, technical assistance and capital through our Diverse Business and Microenterprise Loan Programs.

As of June 1, 2009, Adolfo Avila Jr. will transition his status from SWIF employee to independent consultant. Adolfo served as a consultant to SWIF prior to joining the organization as a full-time employee in March 2008. Now, the need for his services has outgrown both the scope and geographic boundaries of that position. Adolfo has opportunities at the statewide level, as well in all of southern and southwestern Minnesota, to serve diverse businesses where those businesses are located and in communities that have not been served by someone in his capacity.

We are pleased that Adolfo will continue to provide technical assistance to SWIF’s diverse microloan clients and the diverse business community within the 18-county region as a business consultant.

If you are a current SWIF client and need to access our diverse business assistance or to contact Adolfo, please contact SWIF at 1-800-594-948.
