Valspar Grants
The Southwest
Minnesota Foundation has partnered with the Valspar Foundation’s
“Minnesota Beautiful” program for the past six years
to provide grants of paint and coatings for community improvement
projects in southwest Minnesota. Projects receiving grants this
year include:
Muskegon
Boat, Ortonville - restoration of a historic boat that
was once used for lake transport.
The
Fulda Depot and Museum - exterior and interior painting
of this historical museum building.
Jackson
County Fairgrounds - painting of the office, horse barn
and two other buildings on the fairgrounds.
Blacksmith
Shop, Lamberton - painting the exterior of the 100-year
old blacksmith shop, which is the only one of its kind in Minnesota
and is used as a museum.
Westbrook
Heritage Museum - painting of the former depot building
which now houses the local museum.
Western
Mental Health, Redwood Falls - painting the exterior and
interior of Lincoln House, a supportive housing unit for adults
with mental illness, and to update a historic office building recently
purchased by WMH for a satellite office.
Grandstand,
Ivanhoe - exterior finishing of a newly constructed ball
field grandstand.
